MEET NEDDA

CSC/ Manager

Nedda is Tábaahá (Water’s Edge Clan) born for Todich’ii’nii’ (Bitter Water Clan). Maternal Grandfather is Kin ł ichii’nii (Red House Clan.) and Paternal Grandfather is Naakai (Mexican). She has an important role within our community as the Community Service Coordinator.

Chapter Vice-President

Marilyn Holly has been with Red Mesa Chapter for 7 years as an office worker (on and off) and 6 years as a chapter official. Her clans are Tábąąhí (Water’s Edge), Kin Łichíi’nii (Red House), Kinyaa’áanii (Towering House People), and Tł’ááshchí’í (Red Bottom). She is from Montezuma Creek, Utah. Marilyn became a chapter official to communicate with the community members and to assist with their needs, and to move the chapter forward with projects. Her biggest influence is her mom, “who taught me to be strong and be patient.” She attended high school at Aztec High School. Some little facts about Marilyn are that her favorite ice cream is chocolate, her favorite rez food is dumpling stew with tortillas, her favorite basketball team is the Jazz, and she likes to crochet.

MEET MARLENE

Chapter Secretary/Treasurer

Marlene Dee-Ben has been with Red Mesa Chapter since 2009. Her clans are Tł’ááshchí’í (Red Bottom), Bit’ahnii (Under His Cover), Tábąąhí (Water’s Edge), and Tó Dích’íi’nii (Bitter Water). She is from Tow Gray Hill, Ratherford community, south of Montezuma Creek, Utah. Marlene became a chapter official because she wanted to help out with the community growth  and needed improvements. Wanting the community to live comfortably with power and water to all homes. Her biggest influence is making sure everything is up to date, things such as resolutions after each meeting and complete all requests for projects. She attended high school at Whitehorse High School and went to college at College of Eastern Utah (now known as USU). Some little facts about Marlene are that her favorite ice cream is strawberry ice cream. Her favorite rez food is her grandparents food, specifically the blue mush and chilchun. Her favorite basketball tea is the Utah Jazz and some of her hobbies are sewing, puzzles, and trying new recipes. Her favorite movies are ones that star Diane Keaton, Goldie Hawn, and Bette Midler.

Karen’s clans are Tábąąhí (Water Edge) born for Tł’ááshchí’í (Red Bottom). Her Maternal Grandfather is Hashk’ąąn Hadzohí (Yucca Fruit) and Paternal Grandfather is Tó Dích’íi’nii (Bitter Water). She is from Aneth, Utah. Fun facts about Karen: she likes chocolate mint ice cream, she beads and bakes, and her favorite rez food is blue mush.

Chapter President

Herman is from Red Mesa, Utah. His clans are Bit’ahnii born for Tł’ízí Łání, Táchii’nii, and Áshįįhí. He became a chapter official because he wants to assist our community in moral judgement in areas of infrastructure, roads, housing program, and self-governmental statute. Fun facts about Herman: favorite ice cream is orange sherbet, favorite rez food is mutton stew with frybread, favorite basketball team is the Los Angeles Lakers, favorite movie is Top Gun, and his hobbies consist of horseback riding, ranching, and reading.
